Voloshyn Gallery | Adaptive Reuse and Cultural Heritage Transformation
Transformation of a historic Kyiv building into a contemporary cultural space through adaptive reuse architecture.
Voloshyn Gallery is a cultural transformation project located in a historic building in central Kyiv. The project explores how contemporary architectural interventions can adapt existing heritage spaces for modern cultural use while preserving their historical identity and spatial character.
Due to the heritage status of the building, the design approach focused on careful transformation, minimal intervention and respect for the existing architectural fabric.
The project demonstrates how adaptive reuse can support cultural sustainability by extending the life of existing buildings and creating meaningful contemporary public spaces.
The transformation aligns with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, combining sustainability, aesthetics and cultural identity through thoughtful architectural adaptation.
